Who is responsible, and what this notice covers
BAKORP is a trading name of Akeem Baker. It is not a registered company. Akeem Baker is the data controller for this website.
This notice covers the website at bakorp.co.uk. This notice does not cover BAKORP Landlord or any other site this website links to.

What this website asks you for
Nothing. There are no forms, no accounts, no sign-up, no mailing list and no payments. The website does not ask you to submit personal information and provides no means of doing so.
It sets no cookies, loads no resources from any other domain, and does not load or run any analytics, performance-measurement or tracking script. Fonts and everything else are served from bakorp.co.uk.
Some technical information is nevertheless processed by the hosting infrastructure when you open a page. That is described next.
Technical information processed when you visit
Serving a page requires a connection between your device and a server, and the hosting provider records information about it. These records typically include your IP address, the browser user-agent string, the address requested, the response status, the region that served the request, and the date and time.
Two purposes are relied on: delivering the website reliably, and keeping it secure — identifying faults, errors, and abusive traffic such as automated scanning.
The lawful basis is legitimate interests. Those interests are BAKORP's in operating a working, secure website, and visitors' in it being available and not compromised. Only the technical detail needed to serve and diagnose a request is processed. The records are not used to build a profile, are not combined with information from anywhere else, are not used for marketing, and are not linked by BAKORP to anyone's name.

When you write to hello@akeembaker.com, your address, your message and anything you include are held in the mailbox and read by Akeem Baker.
They are used to answer you and to keep a record of the exchange. They are not added to a mailing list, because there is not one.
The lawful basis is legitimate interests: the interest is in replying to people who get in touch, which cannot be done without processing the message and the address it came from.
Cookies and browser storage
This website sets no cookies of any kind — not necessary, not analytics, not preference — and stores nothing in your browser's local or session storage. That is why nothing has asked you to accept anything: there is nothing to consent to.
The site follows your device's light or dark appearance setting. That preference belongs to your browser or operating system and is read only at the moment a page is displayed. BAKORP does not store, transmit or record it.
Service providers, and processing outside the UK
Two providers are involved. Vercel hosts the website and processes the technical information described above on BAKORP's behalf. GoDaddy provides the mailbox for the contact address, and therefore processes email sent to it, and also provides the domain's DNS.
Requests to bakorp.co.uk are currently served from Vercel's London region, but that does not mean all processing happens in the UK. Vercel's data processing agreement states that its primary processing facilities are in the United States and that it may process data there and in other countries where it or its sub-processors operate.
Where personal data is transferred out of the UK, both providers' data processing terms apply the UK International Data Transfer Addendum together with the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. These are safeguards recognised under UK data protection law for transfers to countries without an adequacy decision. Vercel publishes its current sub-processors at security.vercel.com.
How long information is kept
Hosting records are kept by Vercel for a limited period set by the hosting plan, then deleted automatically. This website is currently on Vercel's Hobby plan, where runtime logs are retained for one hour. If the plan changes, that period changes with it, and this notice will be updated to match.
Email correspondence is kept while the matter is open and for 24 months after it is closed, then deleted. That period is BAKORP's own choice rather than a legal requirement or an industry standard; correspondence may be kept longer where the law requires it or where a particular matter makes it necessary. If you would rather your correspondence were deleted sooner, ask and it will be.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask what personal data is held about you and to receive a copy; to have inaccurate data corrected; to have data erased; to ask that its use be restricted; and to object to its use. These rights are not absolute — a request can be refused in whole or in part, and you will be told if it is, and why.
Because the processing described here relies on legitimate interests rather than consent or a contract, the right to data portability does not apply, and there is no consent to withdraw.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@akeembaker.com. A response is due within one month. If a request is complex, or several are made at once, that can be extended by up to two further months — you will be told within the first month, with the reason.
Complaints, and changes to this notice
If you are concerned about how your personal data has been handled, raise it at hello@akeembaker.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's independent regulator for data protection, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. You may complain to the ICO without contacting BAKORP first.
When this notice changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Earlier versions are not archived: the notice describes how the website works now.
